All of us wear jewelry in some
form (my favorite is engagement rings!) or the other but one thing that we neglect is giving it the care it needs
to look as beautiful as it should be. To be able to make it look its best we
should try cleaning it every now and then. To be sure what the right procedure
of cleaning jewelry is, here are some tips that will help you know what I best
for your jewelry. Take some time off and try your best to follow the tips that
are given here and you will see the difference.
1. Most of the stones can be cleaned with a simple solution made of water and a very mild soap. The soap has to be very mild. Once the soap is dissolved in the water all one has to do is take a toothbrush, dip it in the solution and use it to clean the jewelry. The soap has to be mild or else the soap itself can cause damage to the metal. There are certain stones which should not be cleaned by this solution too. 2. If you look in the market you will find a lot of jewelry cleaners that you can use at home. Before using it on your jewelry ask you jeweler if you can use the product. If you do happen to buy it eventually, always remember never to use it for more than 3 months. Even if the solution is left over, discard it. 3. Finally there are also the ultrasonic cleaners that can be used at home. This is best used on jewelry which has absolutely no gemstones in the picture. Sometimes even diamond sets can be cleaned with this kind of a cleaner. Hence choose the best method suitable for you. This is a pretty cool video about repairing and cleaning jewelry:
